Set in a futuristic utopia, an elite peacekeeping force thwarts the rumblings of civil war. But deception within the ranks has caused two members of the most feared unit to strike out on their own. Now stranded on an abandoned paradise, Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato find themselves surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs. They survive on two objectives: get off the planet alive and extract revenge on the man who sent them there. As Grayson Hunt, players wield an arsenal of over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns that feed into Bulletstorm. Continue Reading

Slow Death of the Fighting Game

By admin · Comments (1)

Sho-ryu-ken!! Fatality!! These were the virtual battle cries of the true fighting game champion. Fighting games…a genre unto itself that seems to be slowly disappearing from the gaming landscape. The fighting game itself was started by none other than my personal favorite gaming company CAPCOM. The concept was to stretch the side scrolling brawler (Final Fight) into something beyond just button mashing. Enter 1991, Street Fighter II was introduced in the local arcades and so the madness and obsession began. Never before had the arcades been so popular and packed. The game, at the time was revolutionary with very fluid pixel driven animations. Eight characters of somewhat different fighting styles and the introduction of special moves all in a fixed arena. Metroid: Other M…this is one of the few games that will make me take my wii back from my mothers house. A Metroid game developed by Team Ninja has no choice but to be off the chain. If you’re not already familiar with the game, it takes place some where in between Super Metroid & Metroid Fusion. Gameplay in Metroid: Other M will revolve around holding the Wii Remote horizontally, with the majority of the game taking place in a third person perspective. Continue Reading

My mother and I were just returning from a shopping trip, I bolted upstairs with a crinkly plastic bag flailing behind me. Wasting no time I hastily ripped my new swag out of the flimsy Kaufman’s sack. Eyeing the gold Nintendo “Seal of Quality” I knew I was in for a grand experience. I popped the cartridge into the console and hit the power button…nothing…Pulling out the cartridge I knew just what was needed, a steady stream of hot 10 year old breath, that would surely bring this new game to life. The Expendables: Review

By admin · Comments (3)

The ExpendablesIf a penis could impregnate a machine gun the baby would be the Expendables. Have movie reviewers become so pretentious that it’s impossible for them to grab a bag of $10.00 popcorn and spazz out to a movie chalk full of explosions, stabbings and bullets? I mean really, I hear and read the things some of the more “enlightened” reviewers gripe about…plot, character, dialog…really? Maybe the emasculation of the American male is well deserved.
