Wale – More About Nothing: Review

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

I hate mixtapes.  I don’t have time to listen to 32 2:00 snippets of random tracks that sound like they were recorded in a garbage can with somebody yelling ad libs throughout.  That said, I want to be clear.  I don’t care if it is free and is a follow-up 2008′s Mixtape About Nothing, Wale’s More About Nothing is an album.  Wale again revisits the Seinfeld theme that graced the first and the result is a concept album that belongs in the elite company of Masta Ace’s A Long Hot Summer and Prince Paul’s Politics of the Business. Ras Kass – A.D.I.D.A.S: Review

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Every now and then, along comes a project that restores your faith in hip-hop and Ras Kass’ All Day I Dream About Spittin’ (A.D.I.D.A.S.) is one such project.  That is not to say that it’s perfect, but it’s an admirable effort put forth by a great MC with proper motivations.  A.D.I.D.A.S. cannot be found through what are now considered the norms of music purchases.  Ras took a visionary approach by cutting the distributor out of the mix.  If you so choose to purchase A.D.I.D.A.S., your $8.99 goes directly to Ras which is worth noting because, this unlike so many albums, is one that has the artist’s stamp throughout because he has only himself to thank for the success and/or blame for the failure.  The former will likely be the case. Spiderman 4?

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Wassup comic book movie fans! All this week the web has been buzzing with the news that Sam Raimi, Tobey McGuire and Kirsten Dunst…all  three Spiderman’s key players are out, through, kaput with the franchise. Why? Because of a contractual development deadline and mostly creative differences between the director(Sam Raimi) and Sony pictures. A final serviceable script wasn’t agreed upon after several drafts and writers. Also, some say a dispute over who the main villain was to be (Raimi wanted the Vulture w/John Malkovich filling the role).Well, now Sony has no “tent pole” May 2011 release and they are scrambling to “reboot” the franchise. damn, why can’t they let the series die with dignity? It’s a cash cow and we all know money is the only bottom line in Hollywood. I’ve read and heard all kinds of bullshit regarding the next steps, one the bullshit rumors is Sony going in a “grittier” direction with the character, Whaaat!!! Have any of these execs even read a Spiderman comic, that’s like making Richie Rich “edgy” or Archie a street pimp…utterly stupid. A few directors names have been tossed into the hat to pick up the series and I know from a reliable inside source that two names being heavily considered were Robert Rodriguez and Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy).Personally I feel if either of these two pick up the series there may be hope yet ,we’ll keep you posted  Sir M.
