Top 10 video game movie tie-ins (yes there are 10)

I personally think the movie tie-in game genre of games gets an unfair, bad rap. Sure the larger portion of these games suck, but there are those that don’t and should be acknowledged. I’m not one of those uptight gaming nerds that expects every title they play to be flawless, it’s a video game not sex. In the industry as a whole only 10-20%of titles are really great with the other 80-90% being average or sucking, that doesn’t mean they’re not fun because they’re not perfect.
So here it is, my top 10
- The Matrix-The Path of Neo-Actually a dope game if you are a fan of the movies, released after the trilogy and developed w/the movies directors. This game has all the “Matrixy” action in one game
- Wanted: The Game-Picks up where the movie left off, tight graphically and the action is sick and yes you can “curve” the bullets
- Spiderman 2-A really hot “super hero” title that again, was a tie-in that rocked…some feel one of the best “Spiderman” titles out there, rightfully so.
- The Godfather Video Game: Another example of a good movie game. Good graphics, story and action
- Scarface-The world is Yours: A dope “Grand Theft Auto” type title that does the film justice. Only complaint, the voice acting (no Al Pacino in the game portions), other than that a good title.
- Peter Jacksons King Kong-Peter Jackson and Michel Ancel put together an awesome tie to the blockbuster movie of the same name. Great graphics, sound and control…this game quality from nearly beginning to end.
- Chronicles of Riddick-The Assault on Dark Athena, Escape From Butcher Bay: Pure first-person bliss, with a little “stealth action/adventure” thrown in, hot.
- Wolverine Origins: Unchained-The best wolvie game ever. Violent, bloody and feral. Graphically hot and in my opinion better than the movie…by far.
- Lord of the Rings: The two towers-The shining example of what a movie tie-in game should be, flawless transitions form movie footage to game, basically a hack-n-slash but oooh so pretty, exacting and fun.
- Lord of the Rings: Return of the King-Hands down the best tie-in game ever, flawless transitions from film to game. Graphically tight with great extras and top notch voice acting(all actors present on both titles),and follows the movie perfectly.
Honorable mention. James Camerons Avatar: This game looks to change the general opinion of movie games.
